AllCast — Cast photos, music, and video to your Chromecast App Reviews

It works

This is the first app that successfully played a local video from my phone to the chromecast. Completely effortless!

Abandonware?

No updates in over a year. When browsing your files does not show titles, only thumbnails of each item. Hard to determine the correct video, especially challenging in Google Drive.

Meh.

I does play your music list from your phone, but a) the phone doesnt register which songs are played and b) some of the song wont play for whatever reason. All in all I feel like this is comparable to banging a hottie thats horrible in bed. It looks good to your homies, but as so as I find something better... ya know.

Need to be able to search music

The app works good, but anyone with a large catalog of music will be extremely frustrated trying to search for the song they want to play. You can only search by song or album title. I have over 65 gigs of music on my phone. Update so you can search alphabetically I would pay for that upgrade.

Needs Shuffle Option for Music

Works just fine. But. 4 stars, if shuffle function added. 5 stars, if you can program the album art and song info to "float" or randomly bounce around my TV screen to prevent burning pixels ;) Otherwise, its perfect.

AllCast--Loser!

Ok. It was clearly stated that one should not buy it it didnt work. Well it was encouraging that the free version did work, but was tricky to get working with my ROKU4 and would only briefly show a photo on the TV. I purchased the premium version asked, as promised, no better. The interface is seemingly inscrutable and I now own a virtually useless App. It seems impossible to get any consistent operation out out of this piece of junk.

video viewless

crap. does not see any of the movies or videos on my ipad. therefore useless to me and a waist of $5.

Does what it claims, but needs UI refinement

I am really grateful that this app exists. I have spent days trying to find an app that will take the movies and TV shows on my RAVPower Filehub Plus (WD03) and cast them to my Chromecast. My usage scenario is that I want to carry large numbers of shows when we travel to watch in our hotel rooms at night. The Filehub is excellent, and is a DLNA server, so I just needed something to cast those video files to Chromecast. Infuse Pro, which I already had, claims to do it, but it is extremely unreliable for this task, succeeding about 20% of the time. (It is a great app for playback on your iPad, though.) I went through many, many other casting apps but everything either failed completely or was halting and jerky in the playback. Then I tried this, and it just works! It found my Filehub, browsed the videos and played back everything I tried with it. The playback is smooth and never stutters. It is exactly what I was looking for. However, the UI has some real issues. The most glaring is that it cannot remember where you are in a video. If you watch part of a movie and come back later, it starts over at the beginning every time. Thats a real pain. The second is that it will not easily reconnect with the video that is currently being cast. If you leave the app, and return, it does not take you back to the same screen you left. If you navigate to the video that is currently playing, it starts the video all over again. You can, however, still pause and resume using the built-in iPad controls, and I guess thats fine since it doesnt remember your place anyway. Finally, it would be nice if they would let you save a particular folder as a favorite so you dont have to navigate all through your DLNA folders every time to the same place. Still, I put these into perspective that this is the only one of half a dozen apps I tried that actually does the task and does it well and reliably. It is well worth the price of the in-app purchase to support the developer.

All Cast

Good app, tried with others but this one is the best

Please Add Shuffle and Search

This app is pretty good. The music streaming through Chromecast Audio to my old boom box sounds great...but, shuffle and search would make it fantastic! My screen album artwork does not change with each song on my iPhone 6S either, but that doesnt change the sound.

Doesnt Work

When I press play on photos and music, nothing happens. It also doesnt support Apple Music.

Wont work for Apple Music

It streams my pictures perfect but it do not let me play any of my songs Ive downloaded from Apple Music

Good for photos, slow for videos

Photos cast quickly, but videos are slow with just w black screen for a while.

Upset and unable

Cant get it to load my video from Dropbox, when it does it skips every five seconds. This stinks!

Not Usable

Dont Bother. This app does not work with iOS 9.3.2 and Roku Stick 3600X. In Setup, The Media Server sees the Stick but nothing happens when you select it. When un-selecting it, the Splash screen comes on momentarily but thats it. Have rebooted iOS, Roku & Router to no avail.

Garbage

Find a way to make music play. Why is literally one album out of my entire library available to play? And the ui is also completely garbage.

Happy to have it

This app makes it easy to play my music on the TV, which is very nice. Im glad they made this app and even more glad it was free. To the developer of this app, thank you :)

A waste of money

Very poor performance. I have iPhone 6 Plus and it keeps disconnecting from my Roku TV every second. I paid for premium but this is a waste.

Amazon Cloud Storage

Great application for streaming locally and stored media! Please add support for Amazon Cloud Storage!

Good app but...

This app plays all my music and videos but it only plays two songs from my playlist and then stops and have to keep re-clicking songs to play. I just wish it would play through entire playlists or albums. If it did that its a five star for sure!
